Course Information: To train selected Noncommissioned Officer the leadership, management, technical and tactical skills to perform as Cargo Specialist (NCO) to supervise cargo and hatch operations; teach the skills and knowledge needed to prepare and conduct performance-oriented training, and complement training by building on leadership skills, introducing new doctrine and refreshment in those areas of high learning decay.

Scope: a. This course consists of three phases. Phase I (one) 822-88H30-C45 (dL) consists of non-resident Distributed Learning (dL) courseware intended to train selected learning objectives in Cargo Operations & Terminal and Water Transport Operations. To complete the remaining learning objectives, the student must attend two subsequent resident phases; 551-88H30-C45, Phase II(two) consisting of Water Terminal Operation, Cargo Operations (Rail and Air), MHE operation Rough Terrain Container Handler (RTCH-RT240/ RTCH Simulator), and Mandatory Training; Army Suicide Prevention, Resilience Training for Leaders, Sexual Harassment/Assault Response Prevention (SHARP), and 551-88H30-C45, Phase III (three) consisting of the Water Terminal Operations, Operation of the Hagglunds Crane, and Situational Training Exercise (STX), to include Warrior lessons, Squad leader responsibilities in an Operational Environment. b. This Distributed Learning (dL) portion of this course is 33 academic hours or 3 days of interactive multimedia instruction (IMI) and available via ATSC on-line website/CD-ROM format. The dL course requirement must be completed and evaluated prior to the student's arrival to the resident ADT portion of the course. c. The USASMA developed Common Core [whether resident or dL], or ALC Common Core training must also be completed to be considered a course graduate. This materials may be completed before, during or after any Phase of this course. Students must also complete the Composite Risk Management (CRM) Commander's Safety Course (dL) on-line through the Combat Readiness Universitywebsite: https://crc.army.mil this is a prerequiste for graduation from the Advance Leaders Course (ALC).
