(VPDE)

VPDE Mission

To improve Army Readiness by integrating and synchronizing Army learning systems, providing rigorous, relevant, and tailored distributed training and education to Soldiers, Leaders, and Army civilians anytime, anywhere from a responsive and accessible delivery capability.

Key Functions

  • Manage governance, plans, and policies for the Army’s distributed learning (DL) program.
  • Manage the Army’s centralized contract for distributed learning products.
  • Conduct research to develop/update the Army’s DL content technical standards/ specifications; and integrate new learning DL technologies.
  • Provide policy and guidance on the development of Joint Training and education.
  • Manage mobile learning initiatives to include mobile apps and interactive digital publications for the Army. For more information, check out our website.​​

Strategy/Plans Division

SPD Mission

Manage governance, plans, and policies for the Army’s DL program (DoDI 1322.26 & AR 350-1, Chapter 8)​

Key Functions

  • Manage TADLP & Mobile Learning (ML) Plans & Policy​
  • Develop program overview, governance, plans, and policies to include new trends and concepts under Army Warfighting Challenges​
  • Provide centralized management for DL modernization & on-line exam security policy​
  • Plan/conduct DL Program Management Reviews in preparation for CoC ​
  • Improve DL STRATCOMs​
  • Support TRADOC directed QA program​
  • Develop DL nomination list​
  • Publish the DL Star​

Acquisition & Management Division

A&MD Mission

Manage the Army’s centralized contract for distributed learning products (DoDI 1322.26 & AR 350-1, Chap 8)​​

Key Functions

  • Manage TADLP Content Acquisition & Management​​
  • Prioritize, track, & report DL courseware development to ensure courseware is developed to standard and fielded IAW established milestones​​
  • Support DL Registrations by providing cost estimates; produce execution plans for task order development​
  • Execute DL task orders in support of proponents. ​​
  • Consult with proponents on instructional designs​

Operations Division

Operations Mission

VPDE Operations is the hub for the design, preparation, execution, assessment, and oversight of the operational environment in our effort of supporting the Army’s training and educaƟon mission.

Key Functions

  • Drive the operations process within the VPDE organization.​​​
  • Develop and sustain a situational understanding within the five divisions of VPDE.
  • Maintain the facility management program within the organization.
  • Provide current information utilizing Knowledge Management practices.
  • Organize and lead all assigned mission and information management taskers.
  • Develop and sustain the employee training management program.
  • Collaborate with Joint Base entities for event planning and management.

Mobile Content Division

MCD Mission

Manage the Army-wide process for the development, management, registration and hosting of mobile learning products (AR 350-1, Chapter 8)​​​

Key Functions

  • Serve as TRADOC lead to provide direction and address complex issues surrounding implementation of ML initiatives​​​​
  • Serves as TRADOC lead for Interactive Digital Publications​​
  • Develop ML content for mobile apps, & IDPs​
  • Conduct ML government technical acceptance testing for IDPs​
  • Execute rapid mobile app contract in support of proponents​​​​

Enterprise Classroom Division

ECP Mission

Provide classroom audio visual technology, support, sustainment, governance, and oversight to enable the Army’s training and education mission.

Key Functions

  • Centrally manage and execute the program, from classroom concept development to validation of classroom audio visual technology requirements, design, engineering, installation, property accountability, and sustainment, in support of approved instructional methodologies.
  • Implement cost efficient and effective capabilities that are interoperable, scalable, compatible, sustainable, and standardized.​
  • Provide the capability to access network infrastructure.
  • Research and evaluate emerging educational technology.
  • Maintain classroom and device Mission Essential Requirements (MERs) for Commandant approved Programs of Instruction (POI) and command directed initiatives in supported CoEs/schools.​​
  • Coordinate with CAC G8 to plan, program, budget, and execute resources.
