Army Credentialing and Continuing Education Services for Soldiers (ACCESS)

ArmyIgnitED Education Institution Registration FAQs

Q1. I am having trouble accessing www.ArmyIgnitED.com.

A1. . If you are experiencing problems accessing the Army Credentialing & Continuing Education Services for Soldiers (ACCESS) Web page at www.ArmyIgnitED.com to view the School Participation Instructions for One Portal, most likely your browser is not set up with a Department of Defense (DoD) Security certificate. If a link appears on the warning screen which will allow you to continue, it is safe to click and proceed to the Web page. www.ArmyIgnitED.com is designed to work with all modern browsers: Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Safari. (Internet Explorer 11 and below is not supported at this time.)

Q2. My school does not accept credit cards for payment of tuition. What other forms of payment can we use?

A2. The Government Purchase Card (GPC) is the preferred method of payment for all Army tuition payments. The Government has a contract with US Bank/SmartPay to provide Master Card services. In accordance with the rules for Master Card merchants, if your school accepts Master Card as a form of payment from one party, you must accept Master Card from all parties. If your school does not accept Master Card as a form of payment, then you will need to request a GPC exception. A GPC exception request can be initiated by selecting other Payment Method during your school profile set-up. An Army Education Representative will contact you to discuss your GPC exception request.

Q3. How do we invoice the Army under the Tuition Assistance (TA) program?

A3. For detailed information on invoicing, please review the information on the ArmyIgnitED site at www.ArmyIgnitED.com listed under "Training Materials" in the Help Center section.

Q4. How do we request a login and password for the ArmyIgnitED website?

A4. You will need to create a basic login.gov account. Once this account has been established, go to www.ArmyIgnitED.com and request an account. Once your account access has been approved you will have access to complete account set up, develop your roles, and review help materials for instructions on how to navigate the system.

Q5. Does the TA program apply to Reserve Soldier and National Guard Soldiers?

A5. All Soldiers, Active Duty, Army Reserve (AR) and Army National Guard (ARNG) Soldiers request and receive TA through ArmyIgnitED.

Q6. When I enter my Office of Postsecondary Education Identification (OPEID) code, I get an error message. How do I look up my OPEID code?

A6. To look up your schools eight digit OPEID number, please visit https://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator. When you have a login.gov account, you can request an ArmyIgnitED account.

Q7. What schools can participate in the TA program through ArmyIgnitED?

A7. Tuition assistance can be used by institutions that have signed Voluntary Education Partnership MOU with DoD (contained as an enclosure to DoDI 1322.25). These schools must meet the following; Are in compliance with state requirements and laws, are state-approved for the use of veterans' education benefits (post-9/11 GI Bill), are certified to participate in federal student aid programs through the Department of Education and are accredited by a national or regional accrediting body recognized by the Department of Education and conduct programs that support degree programs from that institution.

(Note:  Tuition assistance eligibility is contingent upon the individual Service tuition assistance policies. For more information on Service-specific TA policies, Service contact information is available at:  https://www.militaryonesource.mil/voluntary-education).

Q8. My school does not have an OPEID code. Are we still able to create a profile in ArmyIgnitED?

A8. If your school wishes to obtain an OPEID code from the Department of Education, please visit https://eligcert.ed.gov/. If you wish to create a profile in ArmyIgnitED for CA purposes, you will need to create a basic login.gov account. Once this account has been established, go to www.ArmyIgnitED.com to request an account.
